Florida Metropolitan University is now known as Everest University. The Tampa campus is considered one of the oldest business schools in Florida with roots that can be traced back to 1890 as the name, Tampa College.
It was in 1996 when the school became part of the Florida Metropolitan University network with 10 locations. It wasn't until 2007 before the school became part of the Everest University, part of a family of career owned and operated by Corinthian Colleges, Inc. The name change allowed the Florida campuses to become part of a nationally recognized name. The Everest College, Institute and University name offers programs at more than 85 campuses throughout the United States.
